Seafood at your Fingertips Live!, hosted live on Facebook by Florida Sea Grant, is a new video series of seafood-centric cooking demonstrations that provides step-by-step guidance for selecting and preparing seafood in Florida. Viewers learn from UF/IFAS Florida Sea Grant extension agents about smart seafood choices, sustainable fisheries, the health benefits of seafood-rich diet, and the seasonality of Florida seafood including qualified substitutions when products are not available at local markets.
Prior to each live demo, chefs share the upcoming recipe to encourage viewers to cook along. Happy Cooking!
*Based on available guidance information, it is advised that vulnerable populations such as seniors, pregnant women, people with compromised immune systems, and children ages five and under avoid consuming raw or undercooked seafood. Seafood is considered cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
