Outreach Programs

Access to information on new issues, concerns, and trends at local, state, and national level related to shellfish through a quarterly newsletter, The Bivalve Bulletin.

Provide educational programs and workshops for shellfish farmers, highlighting growout production technology, seed production, product quality, marketing, water quality, health monitoring, species diversification and organizational development. All subject areas are to be integrated in a total management plan to allow for profitable, sustainable production of hard clams in Florida.

The formation and facilitation of a shellfish aquaculture advisory committee, which consists of representatives from small farms and larger businesses, hatchery and nursery operations, equipment suppliers, and seafood wholesalers and distributors.
